The Prophet ﷺ used to seek protection for Hasan and Husayn, saying, "Your father used to seek protection with these words for Ismail and Ishaq. I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and venomous creature, and from every harmful eye."
كان النبي ﷺ يعوذ الحسن والحسين ويقول: إن أباكما كان يعوذ بها إسماعيل وإسحاق: أعوذ بكلمات الله التامة، من كل شيطان وهامة، ومن كل عين لامة.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on the Prophets (3371), from Uthman bin Abu Shayba, who said, Jareer narrated to us, from Mansur, from Minhal (who is Ibn Amr), from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.As for his saying "hammah" with the doubled meem, it refers to every venomous creature that kills. As for his saying "lammah" with the doubled meem, it means having lamam, and lamam is every affliction that touches someone, such as derangement, madness, or the like, that is, from any evil eye that causes harm.
