There were two brothers during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. One of them used to attend the gatherings of the Prophet ﷺ, while the other worked to earn a living. The working brother complained about his brother to the Prophet ﷺ, who replied, "Perhaps you are being provided for because of him."
كان أخوان على عهد رسول الله ﷺ، فكان أحدهما يأتي النبي ﷺ، والآخر يحترف، فشكا المحترف أخاه إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: لعلك ترزق به.
Tirmidhi related it (2345) from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, Abu Dawud told us, who said, Hammad bin Salama told us, from Thabit, from Anas bin Malik, and he then recounted the hadith. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith."Hakim graded it sahih (1/93–94), relating it through the route of Abu Dawud, with the same wording. He then said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criteria of Muslim, and all its narrators, down to the last of them, are reliable and trustworthy, yet the two of them (Bukhari and Muslim) did not include it."
