A man from the Ansar, from the people of Quba, invited the Prophet ﷺ to a meal, so we went with him. After he had eaten and washed his hand, or his hands, he said,"Praise be to Allah who feeds and is not fed, who has favored us, guided us, fed us, given us drink, and tested us with every fine trial. Praise be to Allah, praise that is never bidden farewell, never repaid, never denied, and from which no one can do without. Praise be to Allah who has given food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, clothing to the naked, guidance to the misguided, sight to the blind, and has preferred us above many of His creation with great preference. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds."
دعا رجل من الأنصار من أهل قباء النبي ﷺ فانطلقنا معه، فلما طعم وغسل يده أو يديه قال: الحمد لله الذي يطعم ولا يطعم، من علينا فهدانا وأطعمنا وسقانا وكل بلاء حسن أبلانا، الحمد الله غير مودع ولا مكافا ولا مكفور ولا مستغنى عنه، الحمد لله الذي أطعم من الطعام وسقى من الشراب، وكسا من العري، وهدى من الضلالة، وبصر من العمى، وفضل على كثير من خلقه تفضيلا، الحمد لله رب العالمين.
Nasai reported it in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (301), Ibn Sunni in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (486), Ibn Hibban (5219), and Hakim (1/546), all of them through the route of Bishr bin Mansur Sulami, from Zuhayr bin Muhammad, from Suhayl bin Abu Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who related it.Hakim said, this is a sahih hadith meeting the criteria of Muslim. Its chain is hasan because of Bishr and Suhayl, for although both are among the narrators used by Muslim, their hadith is only hasan due to criticism directed at them. Ibn Hajar also graded it hasan in Nataij Afkar.Zuhayr bin Muhammad is the Tamimi, trustworthy, except that the transmission of the people of Syria from him is not sound. This narration, however, was transmitted from him by Bishr bin Mansur, who was from Basra.
