A man who had served the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for eight years narrated that he heard the Prophet ﷺ, whenever his food was brought to him, say, "In the name of Allah." When he finished eating, he would say, "O Allah, You have fed and given drink, You have enriched and bestowed possessions, You have guided and given life. To You belongs all praise for what You have given."
أنه حدثه رجل خدم رسول الله ﷺ ثمان سنين، أنه سمع النبي ﷺ وإذا قرب إليه طعامه يقول: بسم الله، وإذا فرغ من طعامه قال: اللهم أطعمت وأسقيت، وأغنيت وأقنيت، وهديت وأحييت، فلك الحمد على ما أعطيت.
Ahmad (16595) and Nasai in Kubra (6871) both narrated it through Saeed bin Abu Ayub, who said, Bakr bin Amr (that is, Al-Muafiri) narrated to me, from Abdullah bin Hubayra, from Abdul-Rahman bin Jubayr, who mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Hajar also graded it sahih in Fath al-Bari (9/581).
