I entered the mosque and saw Abu Saeed Khudri, so I sat down with him and asked him about coitus interruptus.He said, "We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition against Banu Mustaliq, and we captured some Arab women as prisoners. We desired the women, as celibacy had become difficult for us, and we wished to ransom them. So we wanted to practice coitus interruptus. We said, 'Shall we practice coitus interruptus while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is among us, before asking him?' So we asked him about it, and he said, 'It does not matter if you do not do so. There is no soul destined to come into existence until the Day of Resurrection but that it will come into existence.'"
دخلت المسجد، فرأيت أبا سعيد الخدري، فجلست إليه. فسألته عن العزل؟ فقال: خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في غزوة بني المصطلق، فأصبنا سبيا من سبيالعرب، فاشتهينا النساء، واشتد علينا العزبة، وأحيينا الفداء، فأردنا أن نعزل، فقلنا: نعزل ورسول الله ﷺ بين أظهرنا قبل أن نسأله، فسألناه عن ذلك، فقال: ما عليكم أن لا تفعلوا ما من نسمة كائنة إلى يوم القيامة إلا وهي كائنة.
Malik narrated it in "Divorce" (95) from Rabia bin Abdul-Rahman, from Muhammad bin Yahya bin Habban, from Ibn Muhayriz, and he mentioned it.Bukhari narrated it in "Manumission" (2542) from Abdullah bin Yusuf, from Malik with his chain.Muslim narrated it in "Marriage" (1438) through another route, from Ismail bin Jafar, who said, "Rabia informed me," with the same chain and similar wording, adding that Abu Sarma was with Ibn Muhayriz, and he was the one who asked Abu Saeed.In a narration found in both Bukhari, in "Marriage" (5210), and Muslim, from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Asma Dubai, who said, Juwayriyah narrated to us, from Malik, from Zuhri, from Ibn Muhayriz, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, "We took captive women, and we used to practice withdrawal with them, so we asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, and he said, 'Are you really doing that? Are you really doing that? Are you really doing that? There is no soul destined to come into being until the Day of Resurrection but that it will come into being.'"Jawhari did not mention the narration of Juwayriyah in Musnad Muwatta.And in Muslim, through another route, from Abu Saeed Khudri, as a marfu narration, "There is no harm in your not doing it, for it is only destiny."
