Ibn Muhayriz reported,

I entered the mosque and saw Abu Saeed Khudri, so I sat down with him and asked him about coitus interruptus. He said, "We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition against Banu Mustaliq, and we captured some Arab women as prisoners. We desired the women, as celibacy had become difficult for us, and we wished to ransom them. So we wanted to practice coitus interruptus. We said, 'Shall we practice coitus interruptus while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is among us, before asking him?' So we asked him about it, and he said, 'It does not matter if you do not do so. There is no soul destined to come into existence until the Day of Resurrection but that it will come into existence.'"
