The Prophet ﷺ said, "The greatest name of Allah, by which when He is called He responds, is found in three surahs of the Quran, in al-Baqarah, Aal Imran, and Ta-Ha."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: اسم الله الأعظم الذي إذا دعي به أجاب في ثلاث سور من القرآن: في البقرة، وآل عمران، وطه.
Tahawi narrated it in Sharh Mushkil (176), Tabarani in Kabir (282/8), Hakim (505/1-506), and Firyabi in Fadail Quran (47), all of them via Walid bin Muslim, who said, Abdullah bin Ala bin Zabr told me, who said, Qasim bin Abdul-Rahman told us, from Abu Umama, and he narrated it. The wording is Tabarani's.Hakim added, Qasim said, "I searched for it and found, in Surah Baqarah, the verse of the Throne, "Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer" [Baqarah 2:255], and in Surah Al Imran, "Alif, Lam, Meem. Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer" [Al Imran 3:1–2], and in Surah Taha, "And the faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and he will have failed who carries injustice" [Taha 20:111]." Its chain is hasan because of Qasim bin Abdul-Rahman, for his narrations are hasan.Firyabi (49) and Ibn Majah (3856) also narrated it, both from Abdul-Rahman bin Ibrahim, who said, Abu Hafs, that is, Amr bin Abu Salama, told us, he said, "I mentioned that to Isa bin Musa, and he told me that he had heard Ghaylan bin Anas narrating from Qasim, from Abu Umama, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar."The hadith has other chains in Ibn Majah (3856m) and elsewhere, but what I have mentioned here is the most sahih of them.
