The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no one who sends greetings of peace upon me except that Allah returns my soul to me so that I may return ."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: ما من أحد يسلم علي إلا رد الله علي روحي حتى أرد عليه السلام.
Reported by Abu Dawud (2041) and Ahmad (10815), and Bayhaqi in al-Kubra (5/245), all of them through the route of Muqri (who is Abdullah bin Yazid), he said, Haywa narrated to us, from Abu Sakhr Humayd bin Ziyad, from Yazid bin Abdullah bin Qusayt, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Abu Sakhr, for his hadith is hasan, and the discussion of him is elaborated in the book on Hajj.Know that this hadith and others like it pertain specifically to the life of the barzakh, and no one knows its true nature except Allah, so the life of the barzakh should not be measured against worldly life, for taking it at face value contradicts what is observed and perceived. As for what is reported from Abu Hurairah as a saying of the Prophet, "Whoever sends blessings upon me at my grave, I hear it, and whoever sends blessings upon me from afar, an angel is assigned to convey it to me." This was reported by Khatib in his Tarikh (3/291–292), and by Aqeeli in al-Duafa (1696) in the biographical entry on Muhammad bin Marwan al-Suddi, both of them through the route of Muhammad bin Marwan, from Amash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and he related it.Aqeeli quoted Ibn Numayr as saying, "Muhammad bin Marwan al-Kalbi is a liar," and he quoted Bukhari as saying, "Muhammad bin Marwan al-Suddi, they refrained from narrating from him." Then Aqeeli said, "This hadith has no basis from the hadith of Amash, and it is not preserved, and no one corroborates him except someone even lower than him." End of quote.Ibn Taymiya said, "This is only narrated by Muhammad bin Marwan al-Suddi, from Amash, and he is a liar by consensus, and this hadith is fabricated and attributed to Amash by their agreement." Majmu Fatawa (27/241).
