The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah said, 'When My servant comes toward Me by a hand's span, I come toward him by a forearm's length. When he comes toward Me by a forearm's length, I come toward him by an arm's span. And when he comes toward Me by an arm's span, I come to him faster still.'"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن الله قال: إذا تلقاني عبدي بشبر تلقيته بذراع، وإذا تلقاني بذراع تلقيته بباع، وإذا تلقاني بباع أتيته بأسرع.
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on remembrance and supplication (2675:3), from Muhammad bin Rafi, who said, Abdul-Razzaq narrated to us, who said, Muammar narrated to us, from Hammam bin Munabbih, who said, "This is what Abu Hurairah narrated to us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," and he mentioned several hadiths, then he related this hadith.
