He said, I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Satan has despaired of ever being worshipped by those who pray in the Arabian Peninsula, but he still works to stir up discord among them."
قال سمعت النبي ا ﷺ يقول: إن الشيطان قد أيس أن يعبده المصلون في جزيرة العرب ولكن في التحريش بينهم.
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on the description of the Resurrection, Paradise, and Hellfire (2812:65), through several routes from Jareer, from Amash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, and he related it.His saying, "he has despaired that those who pray will worship him," should be understood as referring to the time of the Prophet ﷺ, or that the Arabian Peninsula as a whole will never return to disbelief and shirk, while the occurrence of shirk in some of its individual places does not contradict the hadith.
