Ahmad (8450) narrated it through multiple routes from Abu Awana, from Umar bin Abu Salama, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it. Its chain is hasan due to Umar bin Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf, for there is disagreement about him, though he is hasan in his hadith. Haythami said in Majmaa (13/4), "Ahmad narrated it, and its chain is hasan."Of similar meaning is what was reported from Suwayd Ansari, who said, "We were returning with the Prophet of Allah ﷺ from the expedition of Khaybar, and when Uhud came into view, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Allah is greatest, a mountain that loves us and that we love.'"Ahmad (15659) narrated it from Abu Yaman, who said, Shuayb informed us, from Zuhri, who said, Uqba bin Suwayd Ansari informed me, that he heard his father, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, say what has been mentioned.Uqba bin Suwayd, also said to be Utba bin Suwayd, was given an entry by Bukhari and Ibn Abu Hatim, but neither of them mentioned any criticism or endorsement of him, so he falls among the unknown narrators. Haythami likewise said this in Majmaa (14/3), after attributing the narration to Ahmad and Tabarani.
