I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "They will leave Madinah in the best state it has ever been, with nothing roaming it except wild creatures," meaning the predatory beasts and birds. "The last to be gathered will be two shepherds from Mazina heading toward Madinah, calling out to their sheep. When they reach it, they will find it desolate, and when they arrive at Thaniyyat al-Wada, they will fall down on their faces."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: يتركون المدينة على خير ما كانت، لا يغشاها إلا العواف-يريد عوافي السباع والطير- وآخر من يحشر راعيان من مزينة يريدان المدينة ينعقان بغنمهما فيجدانها وحشا حتى إذا بلغا ثنية الوداع خرا على وجوههما.
