The freed slave of Zubayr bin Awwam reported that he was sitting with Abdullah bin Umar during the time of civil strife when a freed slave-woman of his came to greet him. She said, "I wish to leave, Abu Abd al-Rahman. The times have grown hard on us."Abdullah said to her, "Sit down, foolish woman. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one endures its hardship and severity without my being a witness or an intercessor for them on the Day of Resurrection.'"
Malik narrated it in Jami (3), from Qutan bin Wahb bin Uwaymir bin Ajda, from Yuhanis, the freed slave of Zubayr, who related it.Muslim narrated it in the Hajj (1377: 482) through Malik's route, with the same wording.
