The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man to one of the Arab tribes, but they insulted him and beat him. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him of what had happened. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Had you gone to the people of Oman, they would not have insulted you nor beaten you."
بعث رسول الله ﷺ رجلا إلى حي من أحياء العرب، فسبوه وضربوه، فجاء إلى رسول الله ﷺ فأخبره فقال رسول الله ﷺ: لو أن أهل عمان أتيت، ما سبوك ولا ضربوك.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (2544:228), from Saeed bin Mansur, who said, Mahdi bin Maymun narrated to us, from Abu Wazi Jabir bin Amr Rasibi, who said, I heard Abu Barzah say, and then he mentioned it.As for his saying "Amman," it is with the letter ain pronounced with a u-sound and the mim lightened, and it refers to a city in Bahrain. The qadi mentioned that some vowelled it with the ain pronounced with an a-sound and the mim doubled, meaning Amman of Balqa, but this is a mistake.
