The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A people will come to you whose hearts are softer than yours."Then the Asharis arrived, and among them was Abu Musa Ashari. When they drew near to Medina, they began chanting, "Tomorrow we shall meet our beloved ones, Muhammad and his company."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: يقدم عليكم أقوام هم أرق منكم قلوبا قال: فقدم الأشعريون فيهم أبو موسى الأشعري، فلما دنوا من المدينة كانوا يرتجزون: غدا نلقى الأحبة محمدا وحزبه.
Ahmad (12026) and Nasai in Kubra (8294) narrated it, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (7193, 7192), all of them through routes from Humayd, from Anas, who said what has already been mentioned. Its chain is sahih.In one of the routes of the hadith, Anas added, saying, "When they arrived, they shook hands, and they were the first to introduce the handshake."
