Bayhaqi narrated it in Qadar and Divine Decree (1/297–298) through Dawud bin Abu Hind, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, and mentioned it. Bayhaqi said, "Its chain is sahih." He also said, "Ali bin Zayd also narrated it, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, in the sermon."I say, he is referring to what Tirmidhi (2191), Imam Ahmad (11143), Abu Yaala (1101), and others narrated through several routes from Hammad bin Zayd, who said, Ali bin Zayd informed us, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us one day in the Asr prayer during the daytime, then stood up to deliver a sermon. He left nothing that would happen up until the establishment of the Hour without informing us of it. Whoever memorized it, memorized it, and whoever forgot it, forgot it. Among what he said was, "Indeed this world is green and sweet, and Allah is placing you as successors in it to see how you will act. So beware of this world, and beware of women." And among what he said was, "No man should let fear of people prevent him from speaking the truth when he knows it."He said, Abu Saeed then wept and said, "By Allah, we have indeed seen things and grown fearful." Among what he said was, "A banner will be raised for every treacherous person on the Day of Judgment, in proportion to his treachery, and no treachery is greater than the treachery of a ruler over the common people, whose banner will be planted right at his backside."And among what we memorized that day was, "Indeed the children of Adam were created in different classes. Among them is one who is born a believer, lives as a believer, and dies a believer. Among them is one who is born a disbeliever, lives as a disbeliever, and dies a disbeliever. Among them is one who is born a believer, lives as a believer, and dies a disbeliever. And among them is one who is born a disbeliever, lives as a disbeliever, and dies a believer. Among them is one slow to anger and quick to calm down, and among them is one quick to anger and quick to calm down, so the one balances the other. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, of this world, what remains of it compared to what has already passed is like what remains of this day of yours compared to what has already passed of it."Tirmidhi said, "A hasan hadith." Hakim said (4/506), "This is a hadith that Ali bin Zayd bin Jadan Qurashi alone narrated with this wording, from Abu Nadra, and the two sheikhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not rely on Ali bin Zayd as evidence." Dhahabi said, "Ibn Jadan's hadith is acceptable."I say, Hammad bin Zayd was among the earliest companions of Ibn Jadan, and his narration from him is hasan.
