The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Ansar are my close confidants and trusted companions. People will increase in number while the Ansar diminish, so accept what is good from those among them who do well, and overlook the faults of those who err."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن الأنصار كرشي، وعيبتي، وإن الناس سيكثرون، ويقلون، فاقبلوا من محسنهم، واعفوا عن مسيئهم.
Bukhari narrated it in the Virtues of the Ansar (3801), and Muslim in the Virtues of the Companions (2510), both from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, Ghundar narrated to us, who said, Shuba narrated to us, who said, I heard Qatada narrating from Anas bin Malik, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said such and such, as mentioned. The wording is Muslim's, and Bukhari's wording is similar. Muslim paired with Ibn Bashar, Muhammad bin Muthanna, both narrating from Ghundar with this same wording.
