The Prophet ﷺ said, "The best of the houses of the Ansar are the Banu al-Najjar, then the Banu Abd al-Ashhal, then the Banu Harith bin Khazraj, then the Banu Saidah, and in all the houses of the Ansar there is good."Saad said, "I see that the Prophet ﷺ has preferred others over us."It was said to him, "He has preferred you over many."
قال النبي ﷺ: خير دور الأنصار بني النجار، ثم بنو عبد الأشهل، ثم بنو الحارث بن خزرج، ثم بنو ساعدة، وفي كل دور الأنصار خير، فقال سعد: ما أرى النبي ﷺ إلا قد فضل علينا، فقيل: قد فضلكم على كثير.
Bukhari narrated it in "The Virtues of the Ansar" (3789), and Muslim in "The Virtues of the Companions" (2011-177), both of them from Muhammad bin Bashar, who said, Ghundar narrated to us, who said, Shubah narrated to us, who said, I heard Qatada narrate from Anas bin Malik, from Abu Usayd, who said, then he mentioned it. The wording given here is Bukhari's.
