Anas bin Malik reported,

A woman came to Ayesha , and Ayesha gave her three dates. She gave each of her two little boys a date and kept one for herself. The boys ate their two dates, then looked at their mother, so she took her own date, split it in two, and gave each boy half.When the Prophet ﷺ arrived, Ayesha told him what had happened. He said, "Why does that surprise you? Allah has shown her mercy because of her mercy toward her two little boys."

عن أنس بن مالك قال

جاءت امرأة إلى عائشة رضي الله عنها، فأعطتها عائشة ثلاث تمرات، فأعطت كل صبي لها تمرة، وأمسكت لنفسها تمرة، فأكل الصبيان التمرتين و نظر إلى أمهما، فعمدت إلى التمرة فشقتها، فأعطت كل صبي نصف تمرة، فجاء النبي ﷺ فأخبرته عائشة فقال: وما يعجبك من ذلك؟ لقد رحمها الله برحمتها صبييها.
