The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Abdullah bin Qays," or "al-Ashari, has been given one of the flutes of the family of Dawud."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن عبد الله بن قيس- أو الأشعري- أعطى مزمارا من مزامير آل داود.
Muslim narrated it in "Prayer of the Traveler" (79:235) through multiple routes from Abdullah bin Numayr, who said, Malik, that is Ibn Mighwal, narrated to us, from Abdullah bin Burayda, from his father, who mentioned it.
