Anas bin Malik reported,

Abu Talha was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Medina in terms of date palms, and his most beloved property was Bayruha, which faced the mosque. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enter it and drink from its sweet water.Anas said, when this verse was revealed, "You will never attain righteousness until you spend from what you love" [Ali Imran 3:92], Abu Talha went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, Allah says, 'You will never attain righteousness until you spend from what you love' [Ali Imran 3:92], and the most beloved of my properties to me is Bayruha. It is now a charity for the sake of Allah, and I hope for its reward and treasure with Allah. So place it, Messenger of Allah, wherever Allah shows you."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Excellent! That is a profitable property, that is a profitable property. I have heard what you said, and I think you should give it to your close relatives."Abu Talha said, "I will do so, Messenger of Allah."So Abu Talha distributed it among his relatives and his cousins.

عن أنس بن مالك يقول

كان أبو طلحة أكثر الأنصار بالمدينة مالا من نخل، وكان أحب أمواله إليه بيرحاء، وكانت مستقبلة المسجد، وكان رسول الله ﷺ يدخلها ويشرب من ماء فيها طيب، قال أنس: أنزلت هذه الآية: {لن تنالوا البر حتى تنفقوا مما تحبون} [آل عمران: ٩٢] قام أبو طلحة إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال: يارسول الله، إن الله تبارك وتعالى يقول: {لن تنالوا البر حتى تنفقوا مما تحبون} [آل عمران: ٩٢] وإن أحب أموالي إلي بيرحاء، وإنها صدقة الله أرجو برها وذخرها عند الله، فضعها يارسول الله حيث أراك الله، قال: فقال رسول الله ﷺ: بخ، ذلك مال رابح، ذلك مال رابح، وقد سمعت ماقلت، وإني أرى أن تجعلها في الأقربين. فقال أبو طلحة: أفعل يارسول الله، فقسمها أبو طلحة في أقاربه وبني عمه.
