I prayed the dawn prayer with the Prophet ﷺ, and he recited "When the sun is wrapped up in darkness" [Takwir 81:1]. It is as though I can still hear his voice reciting "So I swear by the receding stars, those that run their course and hide" [Takwir 81:15–16].He said, "My mother, or my father, took me to him, and he supplicated for me to be granted provision."
Abu Yaala (1469) narrated it from Zuhayr, who said, Muhammad bin Yazid Wasiti told us, from Ismail bin Abu Khalid, from the freed slave of Amr bin Hurayth (whose name was Asbagh), from Amr bin Hurayth, and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Abu Dawud (817) and Ibn Majah (817) narrated it through the route of the freed slave of Amr bin Hurayth, from him, with the same wording, but neither of them has this addition, meaning the last sentence.
