We asked Hudhayfah about a man whose manner and guidance most closely resembled that of the Prophet ﷺ, so that we might learn from him. He replied, "I do not know of anyone closer in manner, guidance, and demeanor to the Prophet ﷺ than Ibn Umm Abd."
سألنا حذيفة عن رجل قريب السمت والهدي من النبي ﷺ حتى نأخذ عنه، فقال: ما أعرف أحدا أقرب سمتا وهديا ودلا بالنبي ﷺ من ابن أم عبد.
Bukhari related it in the chapters on the Virtues of the Companions (3762), from Sulayman bin Harb, who said, Shuba narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid, who said, and then he mentioned it.In another wording, "The person most similar in manner, bearing, and conduct to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is Ibn Umm Abd, from the time he leaves his house until he returns to it, though we do not know what he does with his family when he is alone."Bukhari related it in the chapters on Manners (6097), from Ishaq bin Ibrahim, who said, I said to Abu Usama, Amash narrated to you, I heard Shaqiq say, I heard Huzaifa say, and then he mentioned it.
