"And whoever defrauds will bring what he took by fraud on the Day of Resurrection" [Al Imran 3:161].Then Ibn Masud said, "Whose recitation do you order me to follow? I recited over seventy surahs before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ know well that I am the most learned of them in the Book of Allah. If I knew of anyone more learned than me, I would travel to him."Shaqiq said, "I sat in the circles of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ, and I never heard anyone contradict him in this or find fault with it."
{ومن يغلل يأت بما غل يوم القيمة} [آل عمران: ١٦١] ثم قال: على قراءة من تأمروني أن أقرأ؟ فلقد قرأت على رسول الله ﷺ بضعا وسبعين سورة، ولقد علم أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ أني أعلمهم بكتاب الله، ولو أعلم أن أحدا أعلم مني لرحلت إليه. قال شقيق: فجلست في حلق أصحاب محمد ﷺ، فما سمعت أحدا يرد ذلك عليه، ولا يعيبه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Virtues of the Quran (5000), and Muslim in the Virtues of the Companions (2462), both through Amash, who said, Shaqiq bin Salama narrated to us, from Abdullah, that he said, and then he related it. This wording is that of Muslim, and Bukhari related something similar, with its beginning being, "He said, Abdullah addressed us, and said, By Allah, I have taken..." and then he related it, but it does not mention the verse.
