We were with Ibn Umar on a journey when he passed by a certain place and turned aside from it. He was asked, "Why did you do that?"He replied, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do this, so I did it."
كنا مع ابن عمر في سفر، فمر بمكان فحاد عنه، فسئل: لم فعلت؟ فقال: رأيت رسول الله ﷺ فعل هذا ففعلت.
Ahmad (4870) and Bazzar (128) narrated it through the route of Yazid bin Harun, who reported to us from Sufyan, meaning Ibn Husayn, from Hakam, from Mujahid, who mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Sufyan bin Husayn, whose hadith is graded hasan when it is not from Zuhri.
