A robe of fine silk brocade was given as a gift to the Prophet ﷺ, though he used to forbid the wearing of silk. The people marveled at it, so he said, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the handkerchiefs of Saad bin Muaz in Paradise are finer than this."
أهدي للنبي ﷺ جبة سندس، وكان ينهى عن الحرير، فعجب الناس منها، فقال: والذي نفس محمد بيده، لمناديل سعد بن معاذ في الجنة أحسن من هذا.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Gifts (2615), and Muslim in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (2469), both through the route of Yunus bin Muhammad, who said, Shayban narrated to us, from Qatada, who said, Anas narrated to us and mentioned it.In another wording, "Ukaydir of Dumat Jandal presented a cloak as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ..." and he mentioned something similar. Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (2469) through another route from Qatada with the same content.
