I fought in seven military campaigns alongside the Prophet ﷺ, and I also fought under the command of Ibn Haritha, whom he had appointed over us.
غزوت مع النبي ﷺ سبع غزوات، وغزوت مع ابن حارثة استعمله علينا.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4272), and Muslim in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (1815:148), both through chains from Yazid bin Abu Ubayd, who said, "I heard Salama say," then he mentioned it.Ibn Hibban narrated it (7174) through another route from Yazid bin Abu Ubayd, from Salama bin Akwa, who said, "I fought alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in seven expeditions, and alongside Zayd bin Haritha in nine expeditions, whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed as commander over us."
