Tirmidhi (3818) narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (7058) graded it sahih, both through the route of Husayn bin Hurayth Abu Ammar, who said, Fadl bin Musa narrated to us, from Talha bin Yahya, from Ayesha bint Talha, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith." I say, its chain is hasan, for Talha bin Yahya is disputed about, except that his hadith is hasan.It is narrated from Umar that he allotted three thousand five hundred to Usama bin Zayd, and allotted three thousand to Abdullah bin Umar. Abdullah bin Umar said to his father, "Why did you favor Usama over me? By Allah, he never outdid me in any battle." He said, "Because Zayd was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than your father, and Usama was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah than you, so I gave preference to the love of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ over my own love."Tirmidhi (3813) narrated it from Sufyan bin Waki, who said, Muhammad bin Bakr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Zayd bin Aslam, from his father, from Umar, and he mentioned it. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan gharib hadith." I say, it is not as he said, for Sufyan bin Waki is daif. He was afflicted by his copyist, who inserted into his material things that were not from his hadith, and he was advised of this but did not accept it, so his hadith collapsed and deserved to be abandoned.Bazzar (150) and Abu Yaala (162) narrated it, both through the route of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad, from Ubaydullah bin Umar, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, from Umar, and he mentioned something similar. Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad is Darawardi. Ahmad said, "Whatever he narrates from Ubaydullah bin Umar is actually from Abdullah bin Umar" (meaning the daif Umari). And Nasai said, "His hadith from Ubaydullah bin Umar is munkar."
