A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ passed by a mountain valley containing a spring of sweet water. The pleasantness of the valley delighted him, and he said to himself, "If only I could settle here and withdraw from people." Then he said, "Not until I ask the Prophet ﷺ."So he asked him, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "One of you standing in the path of Allah is better than him worshipping among his family for sixty years. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you and admit you into Paradise? Strive in the path of Allah. Whoever fights in the path of Allah for the time it takes to milk a she-camel, Paradise becomes guaranteed for him."
حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا هشام بن سعد عن سعيد بن أبي هلال عن ابن أبي ذباب
أن رجلا من أصحاب النبي ﷺ مر بشعب فيه عين عذبة قال فأعجبته يعني طيب الشعب فقال لو أقمت هاهنا وخلوت ثم قال لا حتى أسأل النبي ﷺ فسأله فقال مقام أحدكم يعني في سبيل الله خير من عبادة أحدكم في أهله ستين سنة أما تحبون أن يغفر الله لكم وتدخلون الجنة جاهدوا في سبيل الله من قاتل في سبيل الله فواق ناقة وجبت له الجنة
Its isnad is hasan. Hisham bin Saad has been criticized regarding his memory, but Muslim narrated from him. Ibn Abu Dhubab is Harith bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Saad, though some say his name was Mughira, and he is reliable.The hadith was reported by Tirmidhi (4/181, no. 1650) in the chapters on the merits of jihad, in the section on setting out in the morning and evening, and he graded it hasan. Hakim also reported it (3/282) and graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
