Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There was a merchant among the Children of Israil who would sometimes give less and sometimes give more. He said, 'There is no good in this trade. Let me seek a trade better than this.' So he built a hermitage and devoted himself to worship in it, and he was called Jurayy." Then he mentioned the story in a similar manner.

قال حدثنا أبو سعيد مولى بني هاشم قال حدثنا أبو عوانة عن عمر بن أبي سلمة عن أبيه

عن أبي هريرة

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال كان رجل في بني إسرائيل تاجرا وكان ينقص مرة ويزيد أخرى قال ما في هذه التجارة خير ألتمس تجارة هي خير من هذه فبنى صومعة وترهب فيها وكان يقال له جريج فذكره نحوه
