Its chain of transmission is hasan. Abu Dawud narrated it 3/201 no. 3161 in the Book of Funerals, in the chapter on ghusl for one who washes the dead, and Ibn Hibban 191 no. 751 in the Book of Funerals, chapter on washing the dead, and Bayhaqi 1/300 in the Book of Purification.
