The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the cemetery and greeted those buried there, saying, "Peace be upon you, dwelling of a believing people. We will, Allah willing, be joining you. How I wish we could see our brothers."The companions asked, "Are we not your brothers, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "You are my companions. My brothers are those who have not yet come, and I will precede them at the Hawd."They asked, "How will you recognize those of your community who have not yet come, Messenger of Allah?"He answered, "Tell me, if a man had horses with white blazes on their foreheads and white markings on their legs among horses that were entirely jet-black, would he not recognize his own?"They said, "Of course, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Then they will come with bright faces and bright limbs from the traces of wudu, and I will precede them at the Hawd." He repeated this three times. "But beware, Some men will be driven away from my Hawd just as a stray camel is driven off. I will call out to them, 'Come here! Come here!' But it will be said, 'They changed things after you.' So I will say, 'Away with them, away with them.'"
