Two crescent moons would pass over the household of the Prophet ﷺ, and no fire would be lit in any of their homes, neither for bread nor for cooking. The people asked, "What did they live on, Abu Hurayrah?"He replied, "On the two black ones, dates and water. They had neighbors from the Ansar, may Allah reward them well, who owned milk-giving animals, and they would send them some milk."
