The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs ablution should expel water from his nose, and whoever cleans himself with stones should use an odd number."
حدثنا علي بن إسحاق أخبرنا عبد الله أخبرنا يونس عن الزهري أخبرني أبو إدريس الخولاني أنه
قال رسول الله ﷺ من توضأ فلينثر ومن استجمر فليوتر
Its isnad is sahih. Malik narrated it with the same wording, 1/19, no. 3, in the book of purification, the chapter on how wudu is performed. Bukhari narrated it with similar wording, 1/52, in the book of wudu, the chapter on blowing the nose while performing wudu. Muslim narrated it, 1/212, no. 237, in the book of purification, the chapter on rinsing the nose an odd number of times. And Nasai narrated it, 1/67, no. 88.
