I climbed up onto the roof of the mosque with Abu Hurairah, and he was wearing trousers underneath his shirt. He took off his trousers, then performed ablution. He washed his face and his hands, extending the washing up his upper arms, and washed his feet, extending it up his shins. Then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'My nation will come on the Day of Resurrection with bright faces and radiant limbs from the traces of ablution. So whoever among you is able to extend his radiance, let him do so.'"
حدثنا أبو العلاء قال حدثنا ليث عن خالد بن يزيد عن سعيد بن أبي هلال
رقيت مع أبي هريرة على ظهر المسجد وعليه سراويل من تحت قميصه فنزع سراويله ثم توضأ وغسل وجهه ويديه ورفع في عضديه الوضوء ورجليه فرفع في ساقيه ثم قال إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن أمتي يأتون يوم القيامة غرا محجلين من آثار الوضوء فمن استطاع منكم أن يطيل غرته فليفعل
