The Prophet ﷺ said, "Were it not that I would impose hardship on my nation, or on the believers, I would have commanded them to use the siwak before every prayer."
حدثنا معاوية قال حدثنا زائدة عن محمد يعني ابن عمرو عن أبي سلمة
عن النبي ﷺ قال لولا أن أشق على أمتي أو على المؤمنين لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari related it, 2/5, in the Book of Friday, chapter on the tooth-stick on Friday, as did Muslim, 1/220, no. 252, Tirmidhi, 10/34, no. 22, and Abu Dawud, 1/12, no. 7.9152m - Abdah, who is Ibn Sulayman, narrated to us, he said, Muhammad bin Amr narrated to us, and he mentioned something similar with his chain of transmission.
