The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah destroy the Jews, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship."
حدثنا إبراهيم بن أبي العباس قال حدثنا أبو أويس عن الزهري عن سعيد بن المسيب أنه
قال رسول الله ﷺ قاتل الله اليهود اتخذوا قبور أنبيائهم مساجد
Its isnad is sahih. It was previously mentioned in 7813. Bukhari related it in 1/119, in the chapter on prayer, section "Abu Yaman narrated to us," Muslim in 1/376 no. 530, in the chapter on mosques, the prohibition of building mosques over graves, Abu Dawud in 3/216 no. 3221, in the chapter on funerals, Nasai in 2/40 no. 704, and Darimi in 1/381 no. 1403.
