The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a man becomes bankrupt and his creditor finds his exact goods with the bankrupt person, he has the greater right to them."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن قتادة عن النضر بن أنس عن بشير بن نهيك
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا أفلس الرجل فوجد غريمه متاعه عند المفلس بعينه فهو أحق به
Its isnad is sahih. It was mentioned before at 8547 with similar wording, and Muslim also narrated it with close wording in the chapter on musaqah, hadith 24-25, as did Abdul-Razzaq at 15162, and Daraqutni at 3/30 and 4/229. Haythami said in 4/144, the men of Ahmad's narration are the men of the Sahih.
