The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, bringing his companions glad tidings, "The month of Ramadan has come to you, a blessed month in which Allah has made fasting an obligation upon you. During it the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are shut, and the devils are chained. In it there is a night better than a thousand months. Whoever is denied its goodness has been denied indeed."
