The Prophet ﷺ said, "The imam is a guarantor and the muadhdhin is entrusted. Allah, guide the imams rightly and forgive the muadhdhins."
حدثنا عبد الله بن نمير عن الأعمش قال حدثت عن أبي صالح ولا أراني إلا قد سمعته
عن النبي ﷺ الإمام ضامن والمؤذن مؤتمن اللهم أرشد الأئمة واغفر للمؤذنين
Its isnad is sahih. It was mentioned previously at 7169 and 7805. It was also narrated by Abu Dawud 1/143 no. 517 in the chapter on prayer, on what is required of the muezzin regarding observance of the time, and by Tirmidhi 1/402 no. 207 in the chapter on prayer, on what has been said that the imam is a guarantor, and he graded it sahih, and by Abdul-Razzaq 1/476 no. 1838, and by Tayalisi 1/130 no. 620 in his Minhah, and by Tabarani in Al-Kabir 8/343 no. 8097. It is not disconnected, for the rest of them narrated it explicitly, with Amash reporting from Abu Salih, who heard it directly from Abu Hurairah.
