The Prophet ﷺ forbade the earnings of female slaves.

Its isnad is sahih. Darimi related it with the same wording (2/272), as did Ibn Abu Shayba (7/35), Tabarani (12/129), and Hakim (2/42), who graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The basis of the hadith is found in Bukhari and Abu Dawud, both in the chapter on hiring, on the earnings of a female slave. It has already occurred at 7838 and 8919, and will come again at 10180 and 16761. What is meant by the earnings of female slaves is prostitution, and that is why some versions state, "unless it is known where it came from."
