The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you prostrates, he should not kneel down like a camel kneels. Rather, he should place his hands down before his knees."
حدثنا سعيد بن منصور قال حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد قال حدثني محمد بن عبد الله بن الحسن عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا سجد أحدكم فلا يبرك كما يبرك الجمل وليضع يديه ثم ركبتيه
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Dawud reported it, 1/222, no. 840, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on how one places his knees. Tirmidhi reported it in the Book of Prayer, 1/51, no. 268, chapter on what has been said about placing the knees, with different wording, and he said it is hasan gharib. Nasai reported it in the Book of the Opening [of Prayer], chapter on what first touches the ground of a person's body, with similar wording.
