The Prophet ﷺ sent his sacrificial animals with him and instructed him to give away their meat, their hides, and their saddle-cloths as charity.

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Bakr Bahili's name is Muhammad bin Khallad bin Kathir, and he is trustworthy. He has a biographical entry in Tarikh al-Kabir 1/1/76 and Jarh wa Tadil 3/2/246.As for his being named here Muhammad bin Amr bin Abbas, this is certainly an error, for there is no narrator known by this name. My strong opinion is that this error comes from one of the copyists, even though it is confirmed in all three original manuscripts, and that it is not an old error, for if it were, the scholars of hadith would have noted it, especially Ibn Hajar in Tajil.Abdul-Kareem is Ibn Malik Jazari. Ibn Abu Najeeh is Abdullah.See 593. This hadith and the one before it are among the additions of Abdullah.
