The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not turn your houses into graveyards. Satan does not enter a house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited."
حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد عن سهيل عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر وإن البيت الذي يقرأ فيه سورة البقرة لا يدخله الشيطان
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Suhayl bin Malik is Nafi bin Malik bin Abu Amir Al-Asbahi, who has already appeared under numbers 7708 and 8424, and will appear again under number 9019. Tirmidhi also related it with the same wording, 5/157, number 2877, in the Merits of the Quran, in the chapter on the merit of Surah Baqarah and Ayat al-Kursi. Muslim related it in similar wording, 1/539, number 1780, in the chapter on Travelers, on the recommendation of performing optional prayer at home. Abu Dawud related it, number 2042, in the Rites, on visiting graves. And Bukhari related it with the same meaning, 1/529, number 432, and 1187 in Fath.
