Its chain is sahih. Ibn Khuzayma related it, 4/147, no. 2554, in "The Rites," and Muslim related something similar, 3/1672, no. 2114, as did Hakim, 1/445, who graded it sahih, and Dhahabi attributed it to Muslim both in chain and text. It has already been mentioned under no. 8769.
