The Prophet ﷺ stopped by a group of people who were seated and said, "Shall I not tell you who is the best of you and who is the worst?"The people remained silent. He repeated the question three times.Then a man from the group said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "The best of you is the one whose goodness is hoped for and whose evil is safe from, and the worst of you is the one whose goodness is not hoped for and whose evil is not safe from."
حدثنا هيثم حدثنا حفص بن ميسرة يعني الصنعاني عن العلاء عن أبيه
أن النبي ﷺ وقف على ناس جلوس فقال ألا أخبركم بخيركم من شركم فسكت القوم فأعادها ثلاث مرات فقال رجل من القوم بلى يا رسول الله قال خيركم من يرجى خيره ويؤمن شره وشركم من لا يرجى خيره ولا يؤمن شره
