The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you hear the braying of donkeys at night, seek refuge with Allah from their evil, for they have seen a devil. And when you hear the crowing of roosters at night, ask Allah of His bounty, for they have seen an angel."
حدثنا شعيب بن حرب أبو صالح بمكة قال حدثنا ليث بن سعد حدثنا جعفر بن ربيعة عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا سمعتم نهاق الحمير بالليل فتعوذوا بالله من شرها فإنها رأت شيطانا وإذا سمعتم صراخ الديكة بالليل فاسألوا الله من فضله فإنها رأت ملكا
