While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting in his gathering speaking to the people, an Arabi came and asked, "Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour come?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ continued speaking. Some of the people said, "He heard what the man said but disliked the question." Others said, "Rather, he did not hear him."When he finished what he was saying, he asked, "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?"The man replied, "Here I am, Messenger of Allah."He said, "When trust is squandered, then await the Hour."The man asked, "Messenger of Allah, how is it squandered?" Or he said, "What does squandering it mean?"He replied, "When authority is entrusted to those unfit for it, then await the Hour."
حدثنا يونس وسريج قالا حدثنا فليح عن هلال عن عطاء بن يسار
بينما رسول الله ﷺ جالس يحدث القوم في مجلسه حديثا جاء أعرابي فقال يا رسول الله متى الساعة قال فمضى رسول الله ﷺ يحدث فقال بعض القوم سمع فكره ما قال وقال بعضهم بل لم يسمع حتى إذا قضى حديثه قال أين السائل عن الساعة قال ها أنا ذا يا رسول الله قال إذا ضيعت الأمانة فانتظر الساعة قال يا رسول الله كيف أو قال ما إضاعتها قال إذا توسد الأمر غير أهله فانتظر الساعة
