He heard the Prophet ﷺ reciting from the pulpit, "And for he who fears the standing before his Lord are two gardens" [Rahman 55:46].I said, "Even if he commits adultery and even if he steals, Messenger of Allah?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ repeated a second time, "And for he who fears the standing before his Lord are two gardens" [Rahman 55:46].I said again, "Even if he commits adultery and even if he steals, Messenger of Allah?"The Prophet ﷺ repeated a third time, "And for he who fears the standing before his Lord are two gardens" [Rahman 55:46].I said a third time, "Even if he commits adultery and even if he steals, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Yes, even if it offends Abu Darda."
Its isnad is extremely sahih, and it is from the hadith of Abu Darda. See what was written in the chapter on what was placed out of its proper place. A note has been written in the margin of the manuscript stating, "This is not from the hadith of Abu Hurairah."
