The companions of the Prophet ﷺ were discussing truffles, and they said, "They are the smallpox of the earth, and we do not think eating them is suitable." Word of this reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "Truffles are from the manna, and their water is a cure for the eye. The Ajwa date is from Paradise, and it is a cure for poison."
قال حدثنا أسود بن عامر حدثنا أبان يعني ابن يزيد العطار عن قتادة عن شهر بن حوشب
أن أصحاب النبي ﷺ تذاكروا الكمأة فقالوا هي جدري الأرض وما نرى أكلها يصلح فبلغ ذلك رسول الله ﷺ فقال الكمأة من المن وماؤها شفاء للعين والعجوة من الجنة وهي شفاء من السم
