Abdullah bin Umar reported,

When Umar bin Khattab was laid out between the pulpit and the grave, Ali came forward and stood before the rows of people. He said three times, "This is the man." Then he said, "May the mercy of Allah be upon you. There is none among the creation of Allah, may He be exalted, whose record of deeds I would rather meet Allah with, after the record of the Prophet ﷺ, than this man whose body lies covered with his garment."

عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنه قال

وضع عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه بين المنبر والقبر فجاء علي رضي الله عنه حتى قام بين يدي الصفوف فقال هو هذا ثلاث مرات ثم قال رحمة الله عليك ما من خلق الله تعالى أحب إلي من أن ألقاه بصحيفته بعد صحيفة النبي ﷺ من هذا المسجى عليه ثوبه
